People want to know if the federal government/foundation-funded "Secondhand Smoke Kills" campaign is medically justified. The latest Surgeon General's Report on secondhand, or passive, smoke says it is. To the contrary, Elizabeth M. Whelan, American Council on Science and Health president and adamant smoking foe, called the report a "mix of facts, speculation, and downright hyperbole."
