If you are a donor who is trying to give to breast cancer research, the name Coalition for Breast Cancer Cures would sound like a great group, says Stier. It just goes to show that even though some groups claim to be using funds for breast cancer research, the donors money is wasted. Several other alleged breast cancer groups do essentially the same thing when they spend donor dollars trying to blame environmental chemicals for breast cancer.

ACSH s Dr. Elizabeth Whelan adds, If you re outraged by this kind of fraud, you should be equally outraged when your money that was donated for legitimate medical research is spent on unscientific activism. Stay tuned for a special ACSH report that separates the legitimate breast cancer research charities from the totally unscientific ones.
