A bitter anniversary for Plan B plan

It s been a year since Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius squashing the Food and Drug Administration s plan to make the morning after pill available over-the-counter, and ACSH s Dr. Gilbert Ross still isn t happy about it.

It s been a year since Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius squashing the Food and Drug Administration s plan to make the morning after pill available over-the-counter, and ACSH s Dr. Gilbert Ross still isn t happy about it.

Many of us in public health felt that this was merely an excuse for Sebelius boss President Obama to avoid another controversy involving reproductive policies in the face of a tough election battle then upcoming, Dr. Ross writes in his regular column for Examiner.com. Hopefully, the president and his HHS Secretary will be more flexible on Plan B when the FDA tries to OK it again in the near future.
