Should you be laboring under the delusion that we are experiencing a moron shortage in this country fear not. July 4th may not create any new morons, but it sure brings plenty of them out of hibernation.

The first fireworks came from the country that “discovered” gunpowder, China, roughly 1400 years ago. As I learned and experimented with in the fifth grade, gunpowder is a combination of charcoal, sulfur, and “saltpeter,” aka potassium nitrate.

As we continue in the time of COVID-19, our thoughts turn to social mingling and of late, fireworks.
